TARANG-2009>>
The mega cultural extravaganza, Tarang-2009, drew wide appreciation from the people as the whole show was given a Green touch. The podium was vividly backdropped with Satakosia’s endangered flora and fauna. The mascot of the cultural fete- the Bellary mouse found in the Satakosia wild life sancturay- was rightly matching with the eco theme. Dance troupes from Punjab, Assam, Manipur, Kerala performed on a Green setting bedecked with lights with myriad colours along with the local artistes from all parts of the district. The cultural groups from other districts of our State also got wide applause. The widely acclaimed Chhau and Gotipua dance along with Kandhei nach (marionettes with strings) and Karama from the picturesque Boudh region fascinated the gathering. The local industrial units had extended their unflinching support to the District Administration to make the first ever festivity a grand success.
