After creation of the Angul District on 1.4.1993, a separate Police District was also created for the District. Now the District is controlled by one SP with  one Addl. SP, 4 nos of DSP, 8 nos of Inspectors and there are 20 Police Stations in the District.

                  The DIG (North Central Range (NCR) is also functioning at Talcher. Angul, Dhenkanal & Deogarh districts are coming under the DIG (North Centraol Range)..
